Exhibition Details: Calling All Visual Artists of Clark County:
BE HOME SOON invites artists who are non-natives of Las Vegas, Nevada to reflect on what home means, where home is, and the moment a home becomes so, if so.
In a city heralded for its transient nature, BE HOME SOON beckons: why did you seek out the Las Vegas? How was the journey here? When did you move? Why? Once you did, when did the novelty wear off? Does it ever, really? How has Las Vegas changed you? Do we ever really leave where we once were from? What makes a home a home?
BE HOME SOON seeks artists with non-native ties to Las Vegas to create works that respond to their surroundings they have chosen to nest within. What does the idea of home mean to you? How do you go about creating a home? Are you here on your own, with family, friends, a significant other? What are the challenges involved in moving to a new city? What is arguably the worst part, and better yet, the best part?
We invite non-native Las Vegas locals to submit to this call through visual mediums including painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, printmaking, fiber art, writing, and more.
